Pub of the Year
The branch's Pub of the Year award (POTY) was introduced in 2018.
It is an award made to recognise the pub in the branch area that is best considered to be fulfilling CAMRA's eight national POTY objectives. For more information about this, go to POTY Selection. Each year the branch's POTY will be entered for the Lancashire POTY award. See Lancashire Area Awards.
Prior to 2018 the branch's George Lee Memorial Trophy award winner (when a pub) was usually recognised as the branch's Pub of the Year winner. See George Lee Memorial Trophy.
From 2018 to 2020 the POTY was chosen by a vote that was open to all CAMRA members that were resident within the CAMRA Central Lancashire branch area. There was no new award in 2021 due to the lengthy Covid lockdowns. Since 2022 the POTY has been chosen by a judging panel of CAMRA Central Lancashire branch committee members.
