The Wheatsheaf, Ashton was the winner of the CAMRA West Lancashire branch's Pub of the Season award for Winter 2011/12.
A presentation took place at the pub on Thursday, January 12th 2012. With the branch now having changed its name, this was the 58th and last pub to be named CAMRA West Lancashire branch Pub of the Season.
