On July 24th CAMRA Central Lancashire held a branch social at the Sir Tom Finney, Penwortham. This social was arranged specifically as the Sir Tom Finney had been chosen as the branch's Pub of the Season for Summer 2025. A busy night for the pub which hosts a popular quiz night each Thursday, there was also a good turnout of local CAMRA members in attendance. Before the quiz started a presentation took place, and pictured left outside the pub are Sir Tom Finney landlady Jen Williams and CAMRA Central Lancashire branch chairman Adrian Smith after the Pub of the Season certificate had been handed over.
