This is a friendly backstreet pub which underwent a tasteful refurbishment in 2021. There is a separate dart and pool room off the bar area and a large outside area with seating and TV. An upstairs function room is due to reopen in 2025. There are three handpumps on the bar; but just one regular cask ale, often from Ossett Brewery, with semi-regular ales from Lancaster, Bowland and Beartown appearing (mainly pales and blondes). One handpump may serve real cider during the summer. Sky Sports and TNT Sports are shown and the spacious bar area has plenty of seating. The pub is very popular on PNE match days both before and after the game.
