The Blue Anchor is very strongly food-led with advertising focusing on the 'all you can eat' buffet and also a carvery on a Saturday and Sunday. The layout is open plan around a central bar with a food servery providing a wide range of hot dishes in the buffet to one side. The bar and buffet close at 8.00 pm each evening with the pub closing 30 minutes later. Two changing cask ales are available. Drinkers are welcome, but finding a seat other than stools at the bar may be difficult during busy food periods. There is a large and attractive garden to the rear.
