Located on Hough Lane in the centre of town, the Spurrier opened in June 2026, the sister pub to the Market Ale House run by the Godwin family. The name is synonymous with the town's industrial past; Henry Spurrier being a British engineer and industrialist who was the first managing director of Leyland Motors. Complementing the Market Ale House, expect to find offerings of brunch, brews, beers, wines and cocktails. There are lots of interesting beers on keg, some of which may be real, but no cask ale is served.
