The pub was built in the early 1800's by the Ridgeway family, whose coat of arms was displayed on the pub sign. It closed in 2010 and building work started Autumn 2013 for conversion into Tesco's store. The main photo (by Raymond Knapman) shows the pub still open while the second picture show it in a sad and boarded state in July 2013.
