Red Lion

The Red Lion, Wheelton was the winner of the CAMRA Central Lancashire branch's Pub of the Season award for Autumn 2021.

NOTE: The Red Lion was originally chosen as the branch's Pub of the Season for Spring 2020. However with the Covid-19 lockdown coming into effect from March 2020, there was no opportunity for the branch to recognise the pub with an award. This being the situation, the CAMRA Central Lancashire branch committee made a decision that the Red Lion should be the Pub of the Season as soon as it becomes possible for an award to be made. After a lengthy delay the Red Lion was eventually recognised by being given the Pub of the Season award for Autumn 2021.

The Pub of the Season certificate was presented at a branch social held at the pub on October 21st 2021.
