Pub of the Year 2020

POTY

The CAMRA Central Lancashire branch committee have decided that there are six pubs under consideration for the 2020 Pub of the Year award. The six pubs that have been nominated are:-

Black Horse, Preston

Dolphin, Longton

Guild Ale House, Preston

Haighton Manor, Haighton

Malt 'n' Hops, Chorley

Yew Tree, Anglezarke

Pub of the Year is an award that is open to be voted on by all local CAMRA members (ie. all members who are recognised by CAMRA nationally as being resident within the CAMRA Central Lancashire branch area). The winner of the Pub of the Year 2020 award will be that pub from the above nominated list that receives the most votes. Should there be a tied result with no outright winner, then the award will be given to the tied pub which has the best average beer score on WhatPub.

Voting is to commence on January 1st 2020, with the end date for voting being February 29th 2020. The winner will be announced on the branch website (and elsewhere) at the beginning of March. The winner will become the CAMRA Central Lancashire Pub of the Year for 2020, and will be submitted by the branch to be considered for the regional and national CAMRA Pub of the Year 2020 awards.

There are three possible ways to submit your vote:-

• by email to ku.gro.armac.scnallartnec@yraterces

• by completing an online voting form (accessible at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SYDG8DF)

• in person (by handing over a written note) to the Branch Secretary at any meeting or social during the voting window.

You will need to indicate your name and membership number, and your choice of pub from the nominated list.

We look forward to receive your vote, and in order to get a most valued judgement we would like to encourage you to visit as many of the nominated pubs as possible before voting. The more people that vote then the greater confidence we will have that the best pub has been chosen as the winner.

For information these are the nationally agreed CAMRA Pub of the Year criteria which we would like you to consider when you vote:-

• Quality of Beer/Cider/Perry

• Style, Décor, Furnishing and Cleanliness

• Service, Welcome & Offering

• Community Focus and Atmosphere

• Alignment with CAMRA Principles

• Overall Impression

A full explanation of the criteria can be viewed on the CAMRA national website on the Pub Of The Year Judging Guidelines webpage.
